BURGHER GRAVE – CLEAN-UP PROCESS – RUSTENBURG CEMETERY

On the 24th May 2014, a couple of Boerkin got together to clean up the Burgher graves in Rustenburg.

All were excited and got going immediately.
The first thing to be done was to clear and remove all the rubble.
Thereafter, the grass was cut short and to our surprise a rectangular granite frame was found around the monument!

Afterwards, spades were used to expose the frame. A concrete slab underneath all the grass and soil was discovered. The soil was removed and the slab cleaned up.

Everyone was tired, but the end result was most satisfactory.

This cleaning action is only the beginning of more work to be done in the future. These Burger graves have to be inspected on a monthly basis as to maintain it.

Our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the cleanup! We are looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

WELCOME

Welcome to the web based home of the Boervolk Erfenis Bewaring.

Boervolk Erfenis Bewaring, registration number 2014/029430/08 is a non profit entity that was formed to oversee and preserve the heritages of the Boervolk.

It was found after many visits to several Boer heritage sites that the conditions is very appalling and in dire need of attention and care, and that neglect at hand was very evident. That is the reason that this entity was created.

We call on all Boervolk peoples, to indeed help us with the protection and preservation of these sites for future generations. These sites are in immediate danger to disappear of the face of the earth and lose its place in history should there not be attention given and an immediate effort to upkeep, uphold and manage these sites the way it should be done, BY Boers for Boers and future generations.

Marthinus Jacobus Prinsloo (1)

It would be unwise to wait for others ( like local government, municipalities etc ) to upkeep the Boervolk heritage sites as we all know that the infrastructure is lacking, secondly it is the responsibility of the Boervolk to do the upkeep and managing of these sites and here the Boervolk is the only Volk that is deemed responsible and answerable to that effect.

There should be no waiting for leadership to play a role in the paving of the way forward, but the onus rest on every Burger to take the first steps in this endeavour. There will be no leader determining the fate of this endeavour as it is based on the Republican way of rule ie: the people of the Boervolk rule and the leaders are mere administrators of the will of the people. It also proves that no leader can be manipulated or bought wicked minded by whomever at any time as the Volk makes the decisions. If such an administrator then not perform his duties he will be replaced by someone else more effectively than him, this the Volk will decide.

Honour thy Father and thy mother so your days will be plentiful in the land that Father will be given you, The honour we owe our ancestors had not been done and therefore the question arises: Boervolk where is your land and heritage now, the land given to our people by The Father creator of heaven and Earth? Why is your days in that land not plentiful as promised ?

Let us rise to this wonderful occasion and let us take hands in an effort to take our heritage into our ownership, let us repair and maintain these heritages so that our days may be plentiful in this land.
A Part of the process of ownership starts with the Boervolk’s true history and the understanding of that history the study and acceptance of that truth.
We must learn from our mistakes from the past and only by not making them again can we be successful in our striving to own and preserve our heritage for future generations.

Only by studying and having insight towards the restoration of these heritages can we effectively turn back towards our Father and only then will we be able to ask our lands to be returned what He gave to our ancestors. It all depends on the Boers that are alive at this very moment we are the only ones that can determine if the Boervolk will cease to exist or be reinstated as a Volk of our Father in a land given to us By Him, as it is now the facts are evident and that is that the Boervolk is on the verge of extinction.

We need to accept and understand our responsibilities. The vow made on the 16 th December 1838 and the promise and agreement of Paardekraal in 1880 by our ancestors forces us to uphold those promises and we ALONE are responsible and have to answer for that.

Why did THEY suffer?

Ask yourself the question that if these children were to stand in front of us today and they ask you what YOU have done to help and build up the Boervolk? What would your answer be?

Boervolk let us rise and let us face and accept our responsibilities. We as Boers can do anything under the sun, look at our past and you will see that no task is too big for us to achieve.

Eendracht maakt magt!
