Brandfort Concentration Camp
Standerton Concentration Camp
All the camps where a GPS Coordinate is specified (please download the pdf list to your computer) are camp cemeteries which we already visited. The rest of the cemeteries we have not visited yet. If you know about any of these concentration camps in your vicinity and you would like to go and search for these cemeteries and send us the info, we will need the following:
1 Photos of the cemetery :
- An overall picture of the cemetery so that we can get an idea of what the cemetery looks like and the current state of it.
- Where possible – one photo of each of the headstones, in such a way that the inscriptions is readable. Please take note that photos of a high quality is big and to email a lot of photos is not practical. If there is a lot of headstones in the cemetery and it is possible rather contact us for a postal address and send us the photos on a CD or DVD per postage.
2 The GPS Coordinates of the cemetery as well as the street address (or any one of the two where impossible to give both) We will then look up the coordinates on Google Earth and send you a photo to confirm the location of the graves. It has happened to us before that we did research and it looks like the cemetery is on the corner of a block but when visited, the cemetery is on another block. That is why it is very important to us to get the exact location so that the next person who would like to visit these cemeteries, get the correct info.
We have an idea of where the most of these cemeteries are located but if we did not visit the site before, we cannot publish the info strictly for the above mentioned reason.
When this information is published on the website we will acknowledge the person we received the photos and information from. If you would like us to NOT place your name on the website, please mention it to us when you send the information so that we can comply with your wishes in this regard.
Where you are willing to give your name and telephone number as contact person on our website, please mention it to us, and we will publish the relevant information. When a person then wants to visit the site where you are the contact person, they will contact you to show them around to where the camp or cemetery is situated etc.
